Soul Revival (“we”, “us”) is the data controller for this website and the information you share through it. This page explains what we collect when you get in touch about a booking or leave a review, why, the legal basis for it, and your rights. Any questions, email soul_revival@outlook.com.

What’s collected

Booking enquiry form: your name and email, an optional phone number, your event date and type, the venue or location, a rough guest count, an optional budget, and anything else you tell us in the message box.

Review form: your name, your review, a star rating, optionally which event you’re reviewing, and any photos you choose to upload.

If you contact us directly by email, phone or WhatsApp, we keep what you send so we can reply and, if a booking goes ahead, arrange it. Messages you send over WhatsApp are also handled by Meta under its own terms.

We don’t run analytics or advertising trackers on the public site, we don’t do any automated decision-making or profiling, and nothing you send is ever sold or shared for marketing.

Our legal basis

Booking enquiries and messages are handled on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us about our services. Once a booking is agreed, we process the details we need on the basis of taking steps to perform that contract.

Reviews and any photos you submit for publication, and photos or video we take at events for promotion, are published on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time (see below).

Why it’s collected

Booking-enquiry details are used only to reply about your event and, if a booking goes ahead, to stay in touch about it. Review details are used to publish a testimonial on this site, but only after we’ve read and approved it; nothing submitted through the review form appears publicly beforehand.

Photos and video at events

We sometimes take photos or short video of the setup and dancefloor at events we play, for our own promotion on this website and social media. If you’d rather we didn’t, tell us when you enquire or on the night and that’s completely fine. If an image of you has already been published and you want it taken down, email soul_revival@outlook.com and we’ll remove it.

How long it’s kept

Booking enquiries are kept while we’re dealing with them and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you get back in touch. Once an enquiry is archived as closed it is deleted within about 12 months.

Reviews that we publish are kept as testimonials for as long as they’re shown on the site, unless you ask us to remove one. A review we don’t publish is deleted within about 6 months, along with any photos submitted with it.

Cookies

The public site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, so there’s no cookie banner to click through. The only cookie the site can set is a strictly-necessary, first-party session cookie in the private admin area, used by the people who manage the site to stay signed in. It isn’t set for ordinary visitors.

Children

The site isn’t directed at under-18s and we don’t knowingly collect their personal data. Enquiries and reviews are expected to come from adults; events may of course involve guests of any age, but we don’t ask for or store information about them.

Who it’s shared with

A few services process data on our behalf, never for their own marketing: Resend sends the notification emails this site generates, Neon hosts the database everything is stored in (in a UK/EU region), and Vercel hosts the site and stores any photos uploaded with a review. Resend and Vercel are US-based, so some data is transferred outside the UK; those transfers rely on the standard safeguards for international transfers (such as the UK’s data bridge with the US or standard contractual clauses). Your details are never sold or shared for advertising.

Security

Information is sent over encrypted connections, stored with the hosting providers above, and access to it is limited to the people who run Soul Revival.

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or object to our using it, and where it applies you can ask for it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting anything done beforehand.

Email soul_revival@outlook.com and we’ll respond within one month. If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, though we’d appreciate the chance to put things right first.
